In April VP, Cyndy Drummey participated on a Western Publishers Association panel entitled “Managing the Impact of Cost-Cuts and Cultural Shifts.” Additionally, Cyndy did a fabulous job at the first Media Management Center West seminar held in Santa Barbara. The seminar was organized by Abe Peck, former head of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Cyndy reportedly scored the highest in the evaluations of all who participated.

In September 2009, Ed Bobit was inducted into the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association’s Fleet Hall of Fame. Mr. Bobit helped start AFLA and, of course, has been the publisher of Automotive Fleet for 49 years. He is an icon and legend of the fleet industry.

Modern Tire Dealer publisher Greg Smith and senior editor Mike Manges flew to India to research and generate content for an India-based tire manufacturer that has plans to enter the U.S. market. It was one of the more rugged trips taken this year by an MTD staff that regularly logs big miles.

A team from POLICE Magazine attended National Police Week in D.C. in mid-May to provide exclusive coverage to readers. Coverage of the week of tributes to fallen officers included news, blogging, photo galleries and video from a bicycle unity tour, candlelight vigil and other events. IP video camera supplier Axis Communications requested a trade show video produced by Security Sales & Integration to help train its associates in Sweden. The video—shot by Web Editor Paul Clinton and edited by Production Director Kelly Bracken—showed an Axis executive installing a pair of megapixel dome cameras at the company’s booth at ISC West 2010. The installation of the cameras was timed on the stopwatch of an iPhone in the clip, which can be viewed at SSI TV.
