Flying to See Trains

Metro Magazine editor Janna Starcic traveled to Germany recently to attend Innotrans 2010, the world's largest rail exhibition. The event, hosted every two years in Berlin, attracts approximately 90,000 attendees and 1,900 exhibitors from around the globe. During the exhibition, she visited with French rail company Alstom Transport and interviewed the company president, Phillip Mellier during a press conference. In addition to touring Alstom’s trains and a prototype locomotive, Janna spoke with other company officials about their new high-speed railcar offering as well as discussed signaling and control technology.
